Why UK GCSEs?
At IntuEducation we follow the UK GCSE AQA Syllabus for all our subjects. We have chosen this route to provide a seamless transition for students who are joining us from mainstream education.
The UK curriculum, often referred to as the National Curriculum of England, offers several benefits for students, educators, and parents alike:
- Clear Structure and Standards: The UK curriculum provides a well-defined and structured framework for teaching and learning, outlining the content and skills that students should acquire at different stages of their education. This clarity helps ensure that students receive a comprehensive and balanced education.
- International Recognition: The UK curriculum is recognised and respected worldwide, making it an attractive choice for families who may move or live in different countries. Many international schools and educational institutions follow the UK curriculum, providing consistency and ease of transition for students.
- Emphasis on Core Subjects: The UK curriculum places a strong emphasis on core subjects like English, Mathematics, Science, and Humanities. This focus ensures that students develop essential skills and knowledge in key areas, which can be beneficial in various academic and professional pursuits, thus delivering a broad and balanced education.
- Assessment and Accountability: The UK curriculum includes regular assessments and examinations, which help track students' progress and identify areas of improvement. This accountability ensures that students and teachers maintain a focus on academic achievement and continuous improvement.
- Critical Thinking and Independent Learning: The curriculum encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning.
- Inclusion and Diversity: The curriculum aims to be inclusive and caters to students with diverse abilities and learning styles. It provides flexibility for teachers to adapt their teaching methods to suit individual needs.
- Well-Resourced Support: The UK curriculum is backed by a wealth of educational resources, textbooks, and teaching materials, which can be helpful for educators in planning their lessons effectively.
Our Structure
Our classes are conducted by experienced, qualified teachers, and subject specialists, with the option of teaching assistants for additional support as needed.
Our home school provision is carefully designed to accommodate students of varying abilities and learning needs. With a focus on inclusivity, our programme provides personalised assistance to facilitate each student's educational progress. Operating with small class sizes, we ensure individualised attention and active participation within a secure and encouraging learning setting.
For Primary school years, our curriculum emphasises core subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and English, which are taught daily to foster a well-rounded academic foundation.
In Secondary school, our approach shifts to teaching one subject per day, allowing students to delve deeper into each topic and maximise their understanding and proficiency.
